We only support authentication apps that support SHA512.
Microsoft Authenticator and similar apps do not work.

Two-step authentication (also known as Multi-Factor Authentication or MFA) provides enhanced security by requiring two verification methods when logging in or performing sensitive actions.

Setting Up Two-Step Authentication

You can independently activate either an authenticator app, SMS authentication, or use both for maximum flexibility.

Step 1: Navigate to User Settings

  1. Log in to your Confetti account.

  2. Click on `Home, then select `Settings`.

  3. Scroll down to the Two-step authentication section.

Step 2: Activating an Authenticator App

  1. Click `Activate` next to `Authenticator app`.

  2. Confirm your account password when prompted.

  3. A QR code will appear, which you can scan using your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy).

  4. Alternatively, you can:

    • Click to copy the secret code to your clipboard and manually enter it into your authenticator app.

    • Open it directly in the app if the option is provided.

  5. After configuring your authenticator app, enter the verification code generated by the app into Confetti.

  6. Once confirmed, Confetti will display a set of backup codes.

  7. Save these codes securely, as they will allow access if you lose your authenticator app.

  8. Confirm that you've safely stored these backup codes.

Step 3: Activating SMS Authentication

  1. Click `Activate` next to `SMS` under the Two-step authentication settings.

  2. Enter your phone number and click `Activate`.

  3. Confirm your password when prompted.

  4. Enter the code from your authenticator app to verify if you previously activated it, otherwise directly verify with SMS.

  5. Check your phone for an SMS code, enter this into Confetti, and confirm.

You can now independently use Authenticator App and SMS authentication.

Logging in with Two-Step Authentication

When logging into your account:

  • After entering your username and password, you'll be asked to provide an additional verification code.

  • Choose to authenticate via your authenticator app, SMS, or use one of your saved recovery codes.

Deactivating Two-Step Authentication

  • Navigate to `Home` -> `Settings`.

  • Under the Two-step authentication` section, select `Deactivate` next to the method you wish to disable.

  • Confirm your password and follow the prompts.

Managing Backup Codes

If you lose your backup codes or suspect they have been compromised:

  • Click `Regenerate Backup Codes` under the Two-step authentication settings.

  • Securely store your new backup codes immediately.

IMPORTANT:

Always keep your authenticator app safe and store backup codes in secure locations to prevent unauthorized access.
